Welcome to Blakemore's Treeing WalkersI strive to breed and train dogs that get the job done both in the woods and on the bench.
My Breeding philosphy is simple and here it is: 1. DONT BREED FOR LOOKS 2. IF YOU DONT WANT TO HUNT THE PUPS DONT BREED THEM 3. ONLY BREED PARENTS THAT TREE GAME 4. CULLS ARE CULLS. DO NOT BREED THEM. 5. TITLES DONT MAKE A TREE DOG. GAME IN A TREE DOES. |
WHY I'M HERE.......
Ladies and Gentleman, I have what I consider to be some of the finest COON DOGS on the planet. Coon dog is not a set of words that I use lightly. These are dogs that night in and night out will get treed with a raccoon and do it in style. I hunt five or six nights a week year round and my dogs must perform to the same standard in the summer and in the winter. Tree coons, do it quickly, and listen when I say lets go home. That is correct my hounds have a handle on them. I don't train for the competition style dog that blows through the country to tree a hot coon. I want a dog that listens and comes to me when I'm ready to go home. I do competition hunt and I do my share of winning with the dogs. Why train for one night a week and hate the other five nights that you hunt. Competitions to me are a way to test by dogs speed and accuracy against other dogs to evaluate potential breeding stock. I will be 100% honest about all of my dogs and tell you if your dog is messing up too. Fair and honest doesn't mean loud and disrespectful.
